Its patented formula allows it to penetrate through the nail lacquer to the base coat forming a single solid coating over the nail plate for a much more durable finish which is guaranteed not to yellow. I use them together. I buy Drip Dry by OPI. I am sure it is the same as the Sephora version. I put on my Seche Vite first then use one drop of the drip dry.

@wing2×1 Oh dear…that’s not good. I don’t wear nail polish that often (due to laziness), so I never saw that effect. I heard good things about the CHI one. Is it available at Winners now? Let me know how it goes!

Sooo… i stopped using Seche Vite as a top coat. I found out the second main ingredient they use in it is Tuloene .. which is basically like paint thinner, which might explain why my nails were thinning and flaking all of a sudden.
:( which sucks cus i loved how it made my nails super glossy and smooth and the instant drying time. .. i have to try and find one that’ll come close, for now im using a Chi top coat.

@fionaman i have stopped using this for abou a month ! and my nails are SOOO much healthier ! i love it ! i know use diamond shield top coat. takes a little long to try but that is why i am going to buy drip dry drops =]

  5. fionaman

@krazy987654 That is a huge downfall that I did notice. But if you apply a very thin layer right after you put on your last coat of varnish, it decreases the possibility of that occurring.

  6. krazy987654

actually this is what sucks about seche vite top coat.
it bonds all the nailpolish layers together. so u can say it is all made in ONE layer. so it will chip IN ONE LAYER.

@NlC0L3 np. I’m glad you found it helpful :)

haha.. its cus over the summer I bought that Konrad Nail Stamping art. And i’ve become addicted to painting nails! The patterns are so pretty and the special nail polish only looks really good when u use a top coat.
Seche vite is the best! dries so fast and its SUPER glossy. My favorite top coat :)

  10. fionaman

LOL Jennifer…I can’t believe you found me! You are one hardcore seche vite buyer haha.

  11. wing2x1

Also, I work at winners currently and yes we have had the whole seche nail product line in at one point .
Problem with winners is they dont get a constant supply of the same product in, so its a if its there its there.. stock up cus it might not be there again til next year. (we havent recieved anymore since that first batch, which was in sept, but i dont know about other locations)

Love the tips from the comments!

LOL Fiona! I was looking where to buy seche vite and came across this.
I love seche vite! for some reason it doesnt shrink my nails when it dries… maybe cus im using the seche clear base coat.
I first found it @ p-mall , but it was $13 and i wasnt willing to pay that much.
I then found it at the sally’s @ bayview and 7 and yes it was 4.99 (im a member)
I just went to sallys the other day and they don’t have any more at that location!
I will have to try trade secrets.

  13. fionaman

Thanks so much for the heads up. I’ll be sure to check out Trade Secrets next time I’m at the mall!

  14. sillysnowflake

Hey Fiona, I saw Seche Vite at the Trade Secrets at Centerpoint Mall at Yonge and Steeles, and I’m pretty sure if they carry it there, they’ll have it at most Trade Secrets…
I, however, get mine from my waxing lady ;)
